Pınar Sezginalp is an Assistant Professor of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. She achieved her B.A. from Bilkent University, department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in 2008. She pursued her doctoral research within the exchange program in KU Leuven in 2013, and obtained her Ph.D. from Middle East Technical University from the Architectural History department in 2017. Sezginalp taught History of Architecture and Interior Design, History of Art and Design, History of Modern Architecture and Interior Design in Turkey, Dwelling and Domesticity, Basic Design Studio and Visual Communication Studio for Interior Architecture students since 2015. Dr. Sezginalp is now an Asst. Prof. in Bilkent University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture.
Her research interests are History and Historiography of Modern Architecture and Interior Design, Dwelling, Domesticity and Home-making practices, Gender and Architecture, Residential Interiors, Documentation of the Modern Interior Architecture in Turkey, Digital Archives and Architectural Heritage. Pınar Sezginalp is a member of DOCOMOMO Turkey Interiors Committee. She is one of the main researchers of TÜBİTAK 1001 (The Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program of Turkey) grant for the project: “Food, Homemaking and Social Integration for Syrian Women in Istanbul, Gaziantep and Hatay”.
